Comments:
Ilian de Taute is by the legendary Olympic showjumping stallion Narcos II. Currently ranked N0 2 as a world performance-producing stallion. He has won both Horse of the Year and Sire of the Year, and his son Twist du Valon won Horse of the Year in the US in 98. Ilian de Taute is out of the du Mesnil dam line, whose family has produced several top winners in eventing and jumping, such as Krack d'Argos and Nerval II. Her dam, Guetna du Mesnil, has produced 11 listed winners ... in all 3 disciplines.
Ilian de Taute has a Blup score of +20 and an ISO performance of 129, which was exceptional for a 4 year-old. Ilian de Taute was awarded Elite status during the 2000-jumping season for 4-year-old stallions, the finals being at Fontainebleu. Ilian de Taute had 13 out of 14 double clear rounds in 2000. He is the epitome of what a sport horse should be, athletic, strong with good bone and muscle, and intelligent with a tractable disposition. He is mahogany bay, 17hh, with excellent movement. He is short coupled and will make an ideal cross with Tbs. and Warmbloods. Ilian de Taute is the only son of Narcos II approved as a SF breeding stallion in North America.
In 2002, Ilian had a phenomenal season placing almost every time out ... he is proving to be fast & careful and is well on the way to becoming a "big time' horse: - 5 jumper division championships;- Triple Crown series winner (preliminary level):- 6th Acura grand prix (his 1st ever GP).
Ilian has proven he has what it takes both as a sire and a GP jumper. He is winning or placing nearly every time out and has done so consistently whilst climbing the ranks every season. 2005 was Ilian's first year at the big league GP level. He competed in seven GPs and placed in five of them, including the $100,000 GP in Florida. In 2006 Ilian was 2nd in the $50,000 GP in Florida, and competed in the $100,000 with a good result. He placed in nearly every GP he entered, finishing his season competing in his first CSI*** in Kentucky. Ilian campaigned at the GP & world cup level extremely successfully and in 2006 & 2007 had significant placings in the $100,000 GP and also won a GP with Aaron Vale on board. In 2007 Ilian switched to 3-day eventing. Ilian is bold, fast, jumps into & over water with ease. He has earned many 1st places at the prelim level in his first year and we fully expect him to make his international debut in 2008.
His first foal crop showed in 2006 as 4 yo winning and placing in all disciplines He crosses well with both TB & warmbloods. Ilian's eldest off spring are 5 years old and are having great success in the ring across all three disciplines. His 4 year old son 'P.S. I Love You' has just been crowned 2007 Canadian National Licensing Champion. None of this is surprising given Ilian genetic ISO & Blup index, as he is genetically pre disposed to perform at the international level and produce top performers. Not only stunning in looks and movement, his conformation & temperament are exemplary.
The Selle Francais are so talented & versatile as a horse, their recent medal winnings at the 2002 WEG's are testament to that with French horses winning the following medals: Team Gold Medal - Show Jumping; Team Silver Medal - Eventing; Individual Gold Medal - Eventing; Team Gold Medal - Endurance; Individual Bronze Medal - Endurance.
Today's Selle Francais is the result of generations of selective breeding in France, which has produced a horse of exceptional athletic ability, keen intelligence and willing disposition. This careful breeding program has proven itself time and time again, with Selle Francais horses consistently being among the top competitors.
In 1999, Baloubet du Rouet, a Selle Francais by Galoubet, won the World Cup of Show Jumping for the second year in a row. In the United States, the Selle Francais gelding, Twist du Valon, by Narcos II (full brother to Mazarin V, sire of Tango Selune) was the AGA horse of the year for 1998. Selle Francais horses have competed on the Olympic show jumping teams of many countries. In Atlanta in 1996, the Belgian registered individual gold medal winner, Jus de Pomme, carried 100% French blood in his veins.
The Selle Francais is not readily available in Canada. Our aim is to improve that option by breeding and importing French riding horses and distributing frozen semen from some of some of the best French performance stallions in the world. Looking for that special French baby? Please give us a call.
