Comments:
Cotopaxi is an imported 16.2hh Holsteiner Verband approved stallion. His is by the state premium stallion Carbano, stamm 1298 (Lord). Carbano's granddam, Fiance, is a full sister to Lord. Carbano's sire it the double Olympic horse Carthago Z.
Cotopaxi's dam, the state premium mare Acolonia, is herself by the Grand Prix showjumping stallion Lenz (aka Land of Kings) who under Margie Goldstein Engle won several big Grand Prix. Acolonia is from stamm 776 (Ramiro Z).
Dr. Thomas Nissen of the Holsteiner Verband described Cotopaxi as follows: "An expressive stallion, Cotopaxi presented himself in Neumunster as a compact power package. His energetic presentation quickened the pulse of the viewers. His action, with an excellent walk, predestines him for jumping where he received high test scores and performed with an almost optimal amount of carefulness, technique and potential."
Leon Melchior's comment on stamm 776 ... "When hearing the number of his lineage, real fans will prick their ears: because lineage 776, after all, produced progenitor Ramiro Z and a very large number of other top-classers."
Filly by Cotopaxi, Serenada, awarded 1st Premium status in AHHA inspection, 2002, with score of 8.8.
2005 saw Cotopaxi winning championships of show in the jumpers and winning his division at the Pacific Regional Dressage Championships. He displayed a cool confidence, consistent exemplary technique and strong competitive instincts. We are preparing him for competition at the top levels in show jumping.
