Shutterflys Mom 'Famm' Hanoverian Mare of the Year
Award given for the first time - 2007

August 02, 2007, Verden. For the first time a mare was awarded the title 'Hanoverian Mare of the Year' at the Herwart von der Decken-Show on 1st August. This award is given for underlining the importance of broodmares for the Hanoverian breed. The Forrest xx/Gardestern daughter Famm is an outstanding mare personality because of the offspring she produced for breeding and sports.

Famm was born on 26th February, 1989 at Jürgen Kühlcke`s at Krummendeich-Stellenfleth. Uwe Dreesmann from Hesel, East Frisia acquired the filly, of which the dam is a full sister to the Hanoverian licensing champion, Glücksstern, for his breeding programme. 'Uwe Dreesmann had the right feeling when selecting stallions to breed Famm to', says Jürgen Kühlcke. Already Famm's first foal was a bull's eye: World Cup Champion Shutterfly by Silvio, who, ridden by Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum won team and individual bronze at the World Equestrain Games at Aachen last year. His junior by one year is Remedi D by Rouletto, also internationally successful with Italian rider Rachel Reina. In 1999 the next hit followed. Let's Fly by Lordanos belonged to the jumping cadre of the Hanoverian Elite Auction in spring 2003 and has meanwhile started collecting ribbons with his rider Peter Wylde, Team Olympic Champion from the US.

Famm produced her first stallion in 2002: Sir Shutterfly. This full brother of Shutterfly is made available to breeders at the breeding station of Paul Schockemöhle, Mühlen. At the Elite Foal Auction 2005 at Verden, Famm added to her fame with her son Shutterboy, who achieved a top price of 50,000.00 EUR.

The award is connected with a prize money. Broodmares are the basis for successes in breeding and sports. With this award the Hanoverian Association show their esteem.
