FEATURE HORSE April 11, 2008: SIERRA SPRINGS (Silberpfiel x Steelbars Monique / Maestro), AB-[CAN]5666-07 G

With foaling season started, it seemed appropriate to feature last year's Alberta Southern Foal Futurity winner. Sierra Springs, a bay filly owned and bred by Cynthia Adams in Olds, Alberta, went on to win Grand Champion Young Horse. This athletic filly is sired by the late Holsteiner stallion 'Silberpfiel' out of the Canadian Warmblood dam 'Steelbars Monique'.

Java II received the Level 1 Hunter Achievement and Year End awards in 2007. She received a premium score in her Riding Horse Test and was champion of her mare inspection at Hogendoorn's. Java is owned and bred by Lorraine Denhoed and ridden by her husband, John Banbury..

FEATURE HORSE January 1, 2008: LANZAR (Florian/Champion/Pantheon), BC-523-93 G

LANZAR, bred by Loukie Schuurman in Oliver, BC, is ridden at the Advanced levels by Rochelle Kilburg of Surrey, BC. He is owned by her father, Ben Vermulen, who also owns the Dutch stallion Pour Quois. Over the past few years, Rochelle has competed Lanzar with great success at the FEI levels winning both in Canada and the USA. In 2007, Lanzar was awarded a USDF Advanced Award for the season for Canadian Warmblood.
