2007: Coming Events:
Message from Colleen Embree-Jay, BC Chapter President
Once again I have a few great bits of BC Chapter News to tell you!
I am excited to say that last weekend we successfully participated, for the first time, in the Mane Event Equine Expo in Chilliwack. Reports are glowing and I wish to thank Jane McLeod for organizing the event and being the driving force behind our presence there over the 3 Day Event. I would also like to thank Chelsea Norris, Brandy Yeager, Sandy Alexander, Michael Rabe for being there Thursday through Sunday setting up, running the clinic, and staffing the booth, and Marilyn Powell who along with a few other members came on Sunday to help out in the booth. Special thanks to Sandy for his entertaining commentary during the demonstrations.
We also couldn't have done it without the wonderful warmblood horses and their owners and riders who graciously participated in our clinic: Kahleia and her colt Cloud Nine (owned and shown by Su Bright); Uva and her filly Roux Royale (owned and shown by Jane McLeod and Chelsea Norris); the jumper stallion Von Burggraaf (owned by Ed Bowerman and trained and ridden by Chelsea McNeill), and the amazing dressage keur performed by the stallion Freestyle, owned by Jennifer and Armin Arnoldt and ridden by Pia Fortmuller. We hope to show the video of this clinic at the BC AGM in December.
We'd also like to welcome the new folks who signed up to our e-news list during their visit to our booth at the Mane Event.
Secondly, thanks to Marilyn Powell for being the CWHBA representative at the Canadian Performance Futurity at Thunderbird Show Park, August 15 -17. See results and article
And last, but certainly not least, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the BC Chapter AGM and Presentation Clinic in Kamloops on December 8 & 9. The details follow my message (see below). I hope to see as many of you as possible to meet and discuss what you would like to see happen in this Chapter. My desire is to represent the wishes of the membership by having you give more input. I'd love to meet you!

We encourage you to talk to other members and come together! I'm looking forward to seeing you in Kamloops!

The Annual General Meeting of the BC Chapter will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2007 in the private meeting room at the PetroCanada Restaurant (Versatile), 1885 Trans Canada Highway in Kamloops. This is just off the highway at Exit 366.
Positions for Election are Vice-President and one National Director. We will also need to choose 3 Delegates to attend the CWHBA National AGM, February 23 & 24, 2008 in Saskatoon.
The AGM will be followed by a dinner and social event at the same location. There is no charge to attend the AGM and dinner, but all members do cover their own meals.
This clinic will be presented at Fieldstone Equestrian Centre, 7373 Barnhartvale Road in Kamloops. Attendance for members is free, and non-members may audit the clinic for a $10 fee, payable on the day.
Join presentation specialist, Level 2 H-J Coach and Senior Inspector Sandy Alexander for a clinic designed to give members the edge when showing their warmblood horses in-hand, whether it is at CWHBA Inspections, halter or lead-line classes at their local shows, or when showing or videotaping their horses for presentation to potential clients.
This clinic will demonstrate:
