Hitchcock Van Overis is an athletic young stallion demonstrating top level scope, carefulness and rideability. As a 7-yr-old, Hitchcock made his FEI debut jumping and placing in the FEI 7- and 8-yr-old classes at the Dublin International horse show. 2015 marked Hitchcock’s first season in North America where he had good results at international venues such as Spruce Meadows and Thunderbird Show Park.
Sire, Darco, won many show jumping competitions including Belgian champion as a 5- & 6-yr-old. Darco was the winner of the Volvo World Cup in London in 1988 and in s'Hertogenbosch in 1989. He was 6th in the World Championships in Stockholm in 1990 and 7th place in the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. His worldwide fame and international success with Ludo Philippaerts is today mirrored by his two-time Olympic Gold medal-winning daughter Sapphire and her rider McLain Ward. In 2011 Darco was the leading jumper sire in the world for the 5th consecutive year proving his consistency and heritability as a genetic mainstay in sport horse breeding worldwide.
Dam, Corrady Z comes from Holsteiner stamm 1072, sired by the foundation stallion Corrado I. Corrado I was licensed in 1988 where his jumping proved convincing in the stallion performance test where he received a 10.0 respectively for free jumping and jumping ability. In 1994 Corrado I and Franke Sloothaak won the World Cup qualifier in Dortmund and placed 3rd in the Aachen Nations Cup. In 1996, they won the Aarhus World Cup competition as well as the Grand Prixs in Neumünster and Kiel. Corrado passes on his tremendous jumping ability to his offspring and has a great number of show jumping offspring successful at international top level.
Hitchcock offers North American breeders consistent and reliable genetics, an ideal phenotype, and top talent for sport.
