General Comments – A modern sport horse, Casparo‘s bloodlines combine contemporary sport-breeding with foundational bloodlines. Casparo is a level-headed and clever character in an elite compact athletic frame.
Pedigree Notes – His Sire Cathago Z won under Jos Lansink numerous Grand Prix, and has five approved stallions. Carthago Z’s sire Capitol has produced great international jumpers, ridden by top riders like Franke Sloothaak (Cassini l), Nick Skelton (Cathleen) and Otto Becker (Dobels Cento). Carthago Z’s dam Perra is by Calando l x Cor de la Bryere, another highly successful jumper. arthago Sun lll’s dam Davos has an incredible pedigree also. Her dam Talenta is out of Buehne, now is a legendary Holsteiner sport mare. Buehne won 50 first ribbons and 200 placings in open jumping in only two years. Landgraf l was “stallion of the century” with his offspring’s winning in Germany topping D-Mark 6 million. He is one of Holstein’s foundations sires. Schampus xx, sire of Davos, was winner in Thoroughbred racing at the age of three. He was taken out of training due to injury in 1988.
Performance – At his stallion licensing, Carthago Sun lll scored 9 in jumping and ended overall with a first premium. He finished his stallion performance test in Alberta as Reserve Champion and was winner of the jumping section. In 2006 he was winner of the Western Canadian Championship for 5 Year olds in Langley,BC. In 2011 after a very successful year WH Carthago Sun III ended his season with a win at the Spruce Meadows Harvest Classic Grand Prix.
