VDL Windsor H is a modern warmblood stallion who crosses well with both warmblood and thoroughbred mares to produce beautiful, athletic offspring that are noted for their elegance, sterling temperaments and easy trainability. With their excellent gaits and jumping talent, they make desirable prospects for jumper and eventing riders.
Windsor’s sire, Indoctro, has earned a world-wide reputation. He is the #1 sire in the Holstein studbook, and in 2011 was honoured as the #1 producer of jumpers in the USA. Indoctro’s offspring are noted for their willingness to work and are loved worldwide by trainers, amateur and professional riders.
Windsor’s dam, the keur preferent Dutch Warmblood mare Fanieta (sired by Ahorn), is also the dam of VDL Ulando H, long-listed for the 2012 Olympics, and the successful Canadian grand prix jumper VDL Viper H.
Windsor is truly a remarkable stallion. His temperament is so impeccable that he was once loaned to a novice member of the York University Equestrian team for an inter-collegiate competition. As a riding horse, Windsor is loved for his athleticism by jumper and eventing riders alike. He is uncomplicated to ride and is willing to face any challenge. As a sire, he produces talented offspring with excellent minds who love to work. They easily find their way into the hands of competitive amateurs.
