Beau Balou started his show career early, winning Top overall Foal at his Hanoverian Inspection in 2015. His exceptional temperament made him easy to start and at age 3, after only being under saddle for 6 months, he was not only licensed (he won his licensing) but also finished 2nd overall in his SPT against older horses. He won the Jumping portion and received 8s and 9s for walk, canter, jumping scope, technique, rideability, conformation, character and temperament.
In November, 2018, he competed at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair and finished 2nd in the prestigious Lieutenant Governor’s Cup (under saddle), 5th in the Governor General’s Cup (in-hand), and was top CSHA Stallion.
In 2019 he will stand for his first crop of foals due in 2020. He will also slowly begin his show career in both Dressage and small Hunter and Jumper classes. Beau Balou should offer breeders offspring that are not only amateur-friendly, with eye appeal, but also talented enough to compete with the best.
He is a very versatile stallion, having and elastic way of going, with great canter and walk for the dressage enthusiasts. His jumping so far has proven to be very scopey and brave.
His dam competed internationally at the 1.5m level and her pedigree also boasts classic, Selle Francais jumper lines. Beau Balou combines the perfect blend of blood (SF, TB,AA) with solid, older line warmbloods.
